16 Days to Go
Remember what you are proud of and where your shame lies...Use your Music Magazine checklist to ensure you have met all requirements and key conventions within your final products...
Currently I see a lack of drafting that needs uploading as well as some analyses that are missing.
Evaluation planning and production should be in FULL effect this weekend. Remember to be visual and detailed in order to gain top marks.
The key questions are in your yellow booklets so follow all instructions and let me know if there is anything that you are struggling with. Just pop by to see me in my office :)

This week you go straight into your construction of Contents and front Cover.
Remember that I want to see on your blogs your research and analysis into Contents pages as well as at least 4 different analyses of Front covers
Pencil Sketches and basic layout drafting should be developed for Contents and FC
Masthead - for many of you I know you already have this done and dusted from your DPS but this needs to be shown from drafting stages on your blog.
ALL original photography needs uploading and you can also upload your photograph Treasure hunt as evidence of experimentation as well.
Photo Shoots
should be taking place next week as well as over half term. You have only 22 days until the deadline for all construction and drafting is due. that is final products done!!!!
Audience research - at this stage it is a good idea to include a video clip of a focus group helping you to create your final two products. Ask them about colours, photography, genre conventions, style, setting...anything that you can film and upload to help make your decisions!!!
If you can't do afocus group a what's app chat/ viber chat works well too - just screen shot your findings and analyse.
Great work so far - I am a happy and proud media teacher!!!

For your research and planning you should analyse at least 3 magazine contents pages.
1. Single analysis from your genre
2. Comparative analysis looking at effectiveness of two music magazine contents side by side.
Ask yourself the following questions about the page:
Does the magazine use images?
How have these images been constructed?
What colours and fonts are used? Does this support the style of the front cover?
How is the information organised so that it is accessible to the audience? What are the different sections? What does this tell you about the magazine?
Are there any promotional features?
Is the magazine logo places anywhere on the page? How dominant is it?
Is there a letter from the editor? If yes, how does the language and tone of writing appeal to the reader and audience demographic?
Does the language and style of writing adhere to the house style of the magazine?
Does it identify and call out to the target audience?
